1. This is the chant that the boys say. This shows their cruelty and their savageness.

2. They're deciding what tribes the boys are going to be in, between Jack and Ralph.

1. Jack is belittling Ralph saying he isn't fit for being the leader.

2. Piggy says that they should make a fire down on the beach because they're afraid of the "beastie" up on the mountain.

1. Why do you think it's a good idea to make fire on the beach?

Response
1. This symbolizes that Ralph is trying to get Jack to go first through the tunnel because in the last chapter he went first on the castle rock.
2. Ralph hit the Boar with his spear but he was only wounded. I think the boar is going to run away.

1. Why was Ralph so happy about hitting the boar?
2. Why do you think the author let the boar run away instead of killing it?

1. I think this parachuter is a symbol or a message from the adults. In chapter 5 Ralph wishes that they could get a message from the adult world. 

2.This is resembling that the hunters can handle the beastie. The beastie is out there and the group knows it and they are planning on how to take care of it.

Response 

1. I was once building a sand castle at the beach when I was about 7. I had built a really big sand castle and I was so happy. But my older sister ran right through it and stomped on it and I was CRYING MY EYES OUT!

2. Once when I was younger it had rained one day and the next day it was blazing hot. My mother and I were driving down a highway and I thought I saw water on the road in the distance so I told my mom to go fast so it can make a splash. But as we got closer it went away and my mom told me it was a mirage.
